Hi, I'm Russ
a Cambridge-based comic artist, Freelance illustrator/cartoonist and workshop leader who can draw anything live! I run inclusive comic art sessions for children and adults. Trained in illustration at Falmouth School of Art, I've worked in children’s publishing for over 20 years and create my own comics and graphic novels, including Tales of the Emotosphere, shortlisted for the 2026 Excelsior Award.
Comic Art Workshops
Energetic, hands-on sessions mixing drawing games, themed drawalongs and mini comic art masterclasses. Children learn how to create expressive characters, comic scenes and weird and wonderful creatures while building confidence in drawing, storytelling and creativity.Themes can include superheroes & villains, manga-inspired characters, monsters or mythical creatures, cute animals & villainous pets, animated food & bizarre hybrids. As well as favourite comic characters!I use D&D dice to play randomisation drawing games. This aspect is always a lot of fun and means no workshop is ever the same!
